When and how is the result assessed?

Changes are assessed gradually as the nail grows over several months. Successful treatment also depends on infection status, not just the appearance shown in a photo.

A photograph does not prove that the infection has been cured. Evidence that lasers can cure the infection is limited; progress should be assessed with a doctor.

Can laser treatment alone cure nail fungus?

That cannot be promised. Evidence for lasers curing the infection is limited. The dermatologist assesses medication, nail care and the possible complementary role of laser treatment.
